The tourism and restaurant industry is growing every year, and the demand for competent specialists in this field is constantly growing. In turn, the wages of qualified professionals reaches $ 10,000- $ 15,000 per month. This direction is very popular among ambitious youth from around the world, including among Uzbek schoolchildren and students.

In our article, we will tell you in detail about two international tourism universities that are recognized as the best hospitality schools – the Swiss institutes Les Roches and Glion.

Both universities represent the international educational network of laureates of international universities, which includes 8 more leading universities from 5 countries, as well as NEASC accredited by the American Association of Higher Education. Thus, the reputation of these schools speaks for itself.

One of the advantages of this kind of higher education institution is its semester practice, which is well paid ($ 2,500- $ 4,000 / month) and helps to consolidate the skills gained during the first semester. Graduates of these universities, as a rule, work in prestigious and world-famous companies such as Fairmont, Bloomberg, Four Seasons, The Ritz-Carlton, BVLGARI, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Rolex, Orinet-Express, Marriott, Intercontinental.

Les Roches and Glion also invariably occupy leading positions in various ratings of international educational institutions – they train young professionals, more than 80% of whom receive job offers before graduation and graduation.

University of Les Roches

Let’s start with the university, which in 2014 at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards ceremony received the title of the best university in the world in the field of hotel management. Also, according to the rating of the western agency Taylor Nelson

Sofres, he was among the three best establishments in the field of tourism and receiving guests around the world. School of Hospitality Les Roches International School of Hotel Management was founded in the Swiss city of Bluche in 1954 and over the years has reached many heights and trained several thousand specialists.

Today, the university offers students from a wide range of countries a wide range of educational programs: undergraduate, graduate, MBA and master’s programs, summer education and professional courses.

Thousands of young people come to the university every year, and Les Roches has a campus not only in Switzerland but also in the USA, Spain and China.

Glion Institute

This university received the title of “Best School of Hotel Management” in 2015, and also ranks second in the list of the world’s leading hospitality schools. The Glion Institute of Higher Education was founded in 1962 in the Swiss city of Glion.

The university has two campuses: one is located near the Montreux resort on the shores of Lake Geneva, and the second is in a small settlement called Bulle. In Glion, students are offered all the necessary educational programs: obtaining a bachelor’s and master’s degree, diploma and certification courses, as well as summer courses in various fields.

University students study all disciplines that are directly related to the profession (accounting, economics, marketing, legislation, statistics, modern methods of business research, brand management and others), as well as general subjects – foreign languages, information technology, natural sciences, psychology, ethics, art, philosophy, literature and so on.

These two universities are similar in their direction to the practical application of knowledge in real production. In both Glion and Les Roche, all curricula are built on three elements – general education, professional development, and practical training. At each course, students undergo 2-3 internships during one semester. This allows them at the end of training to have little experience in a particular field. That is why graduates of both universities are so in demand among organizations and companies of international level.
